Real talk, Sober Operators.

Real talk, Sober Operators. I want to ask you something I rarely see people talk about openly. What was the moment — the specific moment — that made you decide enough was enough? Not the general story. The specific moment. For me, it was being at the end of 7 years of homelessness, I was getting arrested for shoplifting a cheese danish just to have something to eat. I was 128 lbs which I am naturally 165ish so I was grossly underweight, tired just using to stay awake at this point because I didn't have anywhere safe to sleep and when I was getting arrested I felt a sense of relief. Having handcuffs put on you shouldn't be relieving, but I knew I would have a place to sleep and food brought to me and I just was so beat down by my day to day existence that I was happy to have that structure brought into my life. Once I dried out in that jail cell, a month and a half went by and I decided that I was going to make a change. That Danish changed my life! And I've never been the same since. Drop yours in the comments. No judgment. No shame. Just people who understand. This community exists because of moments like that. Let's honor them.
