I wanted to write a post about why I haven't built in the network marketing profession for years.

I wanted to write a post about why I haven't built in the network marketing profession for years. The basic reason is simple, and that is that the promises that the profession promotes are mostly out of alignment with the reality of what people experience. Or, people promise one thing, and they do another. The general pitch is that you're going to be able to escape your 9-5 and build a long term, residual income part time from home. In reality, the promise the majority of the time is not even possible to create for most people who are involved with the opportunity. However, sometimes it IS possible. Sometimes you just have to align yourself with the right group of people, the right company, the right compensation plan, with the right products at the right time. There are windows of opportunity that open up where you can do things where at other times, those same things are more difficult. But these things, although they caused me to be personally disconnected did not break my relationship with the industry. What broke up my relationship with the industry was the way that I saw that the teams didn't stay together and beyond that, where I saw over and over again, people hurting each other on purpose, knowing that they are doing it. I'm NOT talking about when normal, good people make honest or dishonest mistakes and then do their best to do the right thing and to change their behavior. I'm talking about the few, not the many, who will repeatedly violate the people around them for personal gain. Those who plunder others to support their lust, greed, and delusion. I've found in life, there are generally two categories of people: 1 - There are people who are productive and give value and reap the fruits of their labor. They work hard. They give value to people. They give of themselves beyond what they expect for the money that is returned to them. 2 - Those who plunder the work of others to gain benefit for themselves. This is the reverse of group one. To give you an example of 2 without attacking anyone personally, I've had people directly rob me for large amounts of money. In the last business I was building, the partner ran off with $171,000 that belonged to me and more if you include contractors, other partners and customers. He assumed that I would never find out about it so lied directly to my face about the money involved. He logged into bank accounts and sent himself money that he did not earn at the expense of everyone around him and when confronted with it, the only thing he cared about was not damage that he had caused to others, but the possibility of his own brand being damaged. Another form of plunder that I see constantly that is perhaps more severe even than direct theft are for example, ponzi schemes. There is something promised that you will invest your money and then through some sort of mystical mechanism, your money is going to multiply at some predictable rate of 1-3% per day. There is no known mechanism by which any organization can predictably multiply anyone's money by this amount consistently over any period of time. Usually it hides under the guise of arbitrage, banner ads, or some sort of new mechanism. These groups of people are usually crime rings organized in Brazil and Russia more often than other places, and they will just wait until they hit a particular income target then close the website down, send the money through hidden crypto routes and run off with millions of dollars. Another insidious pattern is the constant pillaging of teams that someone did not build, where there has been deep time and energy investment into a group of people by a leader in a company over a period of years. Some leader inside of the organization sees an opportunity to profit if they raid the team faster than if they built trust through their own hard work, so rather than learning to actually build, they raid the team that someone else built. This ends up turning into political attacks that wind up shrinking the size of the overall organization as people do not want to be a part of it and flee from the drama. The core of the main issue is that people do not want to actually build a team for a long period of time in a way that can create a sustainable culture and actually manifest the dreams that they are selling, so they basically live a life plundering the work of others through ponzi schemes, constant launches and re-launches, and when that doesn't work they resort to outright robbery. I don't want to be around people who build their life by plundering the work of others. I had such a deep scar formed in my heart from watching people do this kind of thing over and over again, that for a time, the dream that I had inside of my heart died and I had to find it again, gently stoke the flame, and begin gradually rebuilding the fire on the inside to where I could believe in other people and myself again. The real dream, building a group of people who keep working together and accomplish something that they could not do alone is alive and well. But it is only alive and well with the right groups of people. There are a couple of different kinds of opportunities that you are going to run into to change your life situation. You have: a) opportunities that create strong residual income but in smaller amounts as they have little to no leverage (this can be a feature or a bug depending on how you are looking at it and what you are trying to do. b) opportunities to create fast high ticket income but there is very little long term prospect in what you are promoting (this is generally a plunder strategy but not always depending on what it is). c) Opportunities to create leveraged income. This can be slower than a or b, but be able to actually create higher amounts of income if your team succeeds. This would be like a network marketing business of some kind. d) You have the opportunity to make money as a creator to where you are the center of the flow of income. This is by far the most leveraged of the various ways of creating income but it can also suffer from impermanence (you are hot today and not tomorrow as the market, and personalities fluctuate in attention and value) The core model of I AM Transformation is really concentrated mostly around c and d but at a point of stability in growth we will add higher ticket offerings around skill based certifications that you can utilize to professionally expand in the sense you will learn things you can start real businesses around. I do think we need to add some ability to create small, faster residual and up front money more quickly. My main outcome here is to actually build a team that continues to grow and sticks together and does something great - to create an environment where our dreams have the ability to become realized. My main gift comes in the way that I have the ability to lift up the people around me to higher levels through my association with them and the faith that I have in people and the skill that I have in mentoring people. Let's create a culture of producers, not plunderers. Let's put aside behaviors of dishonesty, false promises, claims that have no basis in reality, and strategies that create harm in others for the sake of our own gain. It is not the way. If the core of what we are creating is revolving around giving value to people and helping them accomplish their goals, we will continue to win. If the core of what we are creating is helping others to transform and accomplish their own greatness, we will continue to succeed. If the aim of our energy is concentrated in the customer, in helping them to have a better experience and a trusted group of mentors, we will accomplish amazing things together. Remember tomorrow night at 9pm EST I will go live with a team training. Let's lock arms and fight the forces of evil.
